On Monday the 18th of March, We went on a school trip to Brunner mine. It was very interesting
We learnt about coal and coke. We also learnt about how many people died in the explosion.
Apparently the explosion was caused by a miner because he had a naked flame in the mine and the gasses in the mine with the flame made it explode.
We learnt about the air way that pumps in the mine and whether to filter the dirty air or pump new air into the mine
We also went to the cemetery to pay respects to the miners that died in the explosion
We did lots of acting and we had a great time!
Here are a few photos of the trip

Hi Adi, this is a fantastic post. I really like how you have included detailed information about your learning at the mine site. I learnt a lot about the making and uses of coke also. What was your favourite activity of our trip? I think mine was when you dressed up as characters from our novel and posed for stories. Do you think visiting the site where our class novel was set helps your understanding of the story? Why or Why not?
